Embassy Freight Services (UK) Ltd has celebrated 10 years of successful business. The group has over 40 offices spanning all the continents of the world with a combined turnover in excess of $300 million. This makes it amongst the largest independent freight forwarding groups anywhere.
Steve Winters the managing director sought a solution to their ever increasing paper problems that was taking up valuable office space and causing problems with the time taken to retrieve files and respond to customer queries.
Advanced Technology supplied a Rex Rotary Network Scanner together with INVU document management software. Embassy Freight now scan in all Delivery Notes, Invoices and Purchase Orders using the Network Scanner directly into the INVU system by way of mail boxes connected to each individual workstation on the network. Once scanned into the system all documents are instantly available by using structured indexing and OCR technology that is built into the INVU system. Once the back up procedure has been checked all paper files are destroyed freeing up lots of storage space and stopping the continued build up of paper files.
